Thank you for the reply.
I am in no way a novice to the world of computers and audio interfaces and have been using them since the days of the SoundBlaster LIVE.
I have asked the question on here because I have firstly tried all I can to find out the fault. I have uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled but still no change.
In The Behringer FCA1616 control panel, Cubase 7 project and device settings or Ableton live 8 audio settiings I can only use either 88.2 or 96 kHz.
I have installed onto my Normal use Boot of my Laptop to check for conflicts but had exactly the same results.
I sent the unit back to Studiospares.com and they have tested it.
It appears that if you have the S/MUX option selected for the digital section on the right hand side of the front panel, the sample rate options reduce to 88.2 or 96 kHz only.
The manual does not indicate this change takes place and the customer care team didn't know that either. A simple line in the manual could have saved me a lot of time.

Has anybody noticed a clicking sound when an audio stream is first sent to the FCA1616? I use the firepower on both window and Mac computer as well as my iPad (4th ten). The firepower is plugged in and the usb light is on. As soon as I sent any audio to it, I get a massive click. I have upgraded to the new firmware (via windows as there is no mac tool yet) but this has not helped.
This could be a clocking issue. I'm using the FireWire interface (not USB) so the control panels may differ, but make sure that you're clocking to the computer and not to the FCA1616 in the synchronization settings. I was having similar clicking issues before changing this setting.

In any event, I just connected the FCA1616 via USB and the synchronization choices in the USB control panel are only either internal device or optical in. Ah well.
