Mixing via Subgroups

I understand that you can mix via DCAs but can I do the same with Subgroups? I use subgroups to compress groups of different channels at different ratio/thresholds basically creating an auto mix and would like to mix via the subgroup faders as well as I am use to this via analog boards.
Is this possible?

of course you can use the subgroups as you are used to on analog boards.

You can even control the subgroups with the DCAs if you want!
