Xenyx 1204FX Recordings are Flat

Not quite sure what the problem here is but I'm trying to record a set out of my turntables and the recording is flat (no distinct lows, mids or highs). I'm assuming the effects are only added to recordings if the FX knob is turned up, which it isn't. Or it might even be my cable connecting my turntable mixer to my 1204. Any how, is there any way to completely disable the FX on the Xenyx1204? This is very frustrating, not being able to record a high quality mix...

I have an RCA-1/4" Patch Cable going from my mixer's output into the 1st channel.

Also, how do I turn all the effects off of the 1204? The manual gives me no clues on how to do this.

Dear Ken,

Are you using a DJ mixer with a turntable? Connecting the main output of the DJ mixer to the XENYX X1204USB?

If you don't turn up the FX send it will not have any affect on the channel. All check that you are using decent quality cables for your interconnections.
