Thread: Firmware 1.12 loaded and mutes are lost on power up change scene and everything is OK

Firmware 1.12 loaded and mutes are lost on power up change scene and everything is OK

I have just loaded Firmware 1.12 and my scenes are working fine and I can save and load correctly. However on power up the last mute state is not loaded so channels saved as muted in the scene are loaded up un muted.
If I change scene to another and back again then the mute state is correct.

    Hi Keith,

You can always go with the safe shutdown procedure:

    1. Press SETUP next to the screen.
    2. Use the fifth encoder from the left on the bottom of the screen to choose Safe Shutdown.

    I hope that this helps.

    Glenn,

Thank you for that reply however I think you may have miss read the problem.

All the channels that were Muted and saved to the scene are no longer muted on power up.

Changing scene to another scene and back again to the original scene returns the correct muted states of the channels after power up.

This only happens at power up.

Depending on when you performed the mutes it may not have been saved into the 'snapshot' memory before you power down. As I understand it, it can take up to 3 minutes before everything is saved into the snapshot memory.

By doing a safe shutdown the snapshot memory is updated right away and should recall properly at the next power on.

    Hi Keith,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have carried out a few simple tests on an X32 regarding this issue. I set up a couple of scenes and saved them. On both scenes i created mute groups. I then placed some of the mute groups on and some off, i then pulled the power. When i then powered up the X32 non of the mute assignments had been saved only the original previously saved scene was present. I then repeated the process but this time i performed a "safe shutdown". When i then powered the X32 back up everything was as I left it. I tried this out with several configurations and got the same results every time. From this I have concluded that it is good practice to perform a "safe shutdown" every time you power the X32 down.
I hope this helps Keith, if you have any further issues then please don't hesitate to contact me.

    Kind Regards

    To All,

I am sorry but I can not get this to work even with a safe shut down but I have got some more interesting test results to show you.

I have tried saving a scene with new muted channels and they save perfectly, I can move to another scene and back again and the mutes are as I saved them and used Safe shut down at all times.

However I have found this appears to be limited to Input channels 1 to 16. I set muted to channels 17 18 and saved the scene then turned off the X32. On powering up the X32 I found that the Inputs 1 to 16 had no muted channels yet switching to channels 17 to 32 I found the mutes had stuck. When I went back to channels 1 to 16 the mutes were still not there until I swapped to another scene and back again.

The snap shot is working but as you say takes 3 to 5 Mins to stick and what is really interesting is that if I apply a mute to say channels 1 to 4 and wait and turn off the X32 then on power up the channels are muted as you would expect. On loading the scene back to the original the mutes are returned to un-muted and the others that should have powered up muted are correctly muted.

So no one else has got this problem? or has it been fixed on another thread.
