Thread: XControl issues on Mac

    XControl issues on Mac

    Running: X32 v1.12 MacbookPro OS X 10.8.2

I just got XControl running on the laptop and observe the following:

► After synchronizing Console -> PC , there is no Library information displayed for either Channel, Effects, or Routing.

► Selecting the input channel bank (1-16, 17-32, AuxIn, etc.) from either the console or the laptop does not illuminate the correct button on the other. The function is there, just no display change of the channel bank button on either.

► Same for the Group/Bus Channel Banks buttons. Selecting the Sends On Fader, Group DCA, Bus 1-8, etc. button from either the console or laptop does not illuminate the selected button on the other. The function is there, just no display change of the channel bank button on either.

► Same for the Select buttons. Pressing a Select button on either the console or laptop does not illuminate on the other device.

Other Mac users ... are these known issues or normal behavior?

    Hello Bob,

To the best of my knowledge, this is all normal behavior for the XControl application. I've run XControl on my iMac with OS X 10.8.2, as well as a Windows XP laptop, and they both behave the same way. The selection focus for XControl and the console itself are independent, allowing multiple people to work on different parts of the mix at a time. For example, a FOH engineer could be tweaking the EQ of a mic channel from the console, while an assistant is tweaking the EQ for a mix bus from XControl. I do not know of a way to change this behavior. There is "Presentation Mode" for XControl, but that will only cause the display section to 'follow' the console; everything else is still independent.

I haven't worked with the Library much, but I think that XControl maintains its own library items separate from what is on the console. Perhaps someone who uses the Library more can add to this?
