Monitor mixes from Xenyx 2442FX

One of my bands has 3 vocalists and a harmonica player who all go through the 2442FX mixer

We use the AUX SEND jacks to connect to foldback monitors. The mix to each monitor is controlled by the AUX SEND controls on each channel strip

We would like to have 4 different mixes so everyone can have their own foldback mix with them turned up relative to everyone else. But the problem is that the AUX 3FX channel is taken up by a uniform mix of just the 3 vocals, which goes into the internal effects processor. This mix is not much use to any of us as a foldback mix.

So we can have 3 different foldback mixes (AUX 1, 2 and 4), but we need four. Is there any way of getting another foldback mix out of this unit?

Unfortunately, this model can only provide 2 "pre-fader" AUX sends for monitor mixes. AUX 1 and 2 can be set to pre fader using the PRE button. AUX 3 and 4 or both post fader, and designed for use with FX. AUX 3, is internally routed to the built in FX processor.

Check out the XL1600, XL2400, and XL3200, for the ability to have 4 pre fader monitor mixes. Also, the SX3882, and SX4882 would work. We should also mention the X32 would be the ultimate choice.

2442FX-PRO – Creating a monitor mix:
- Connect from the AUX SEND 1 jack on the mixer to the monitor amp or powered monitor input.
- Use the MON knob on each channel and the AUX SENDS 1 knob (just below the FX display) to adjust the signal level sent to the AUX SEND 1 output.

Use of the 2442FX-PRO with 2 separate monitor mixes
To use the AUX SENDS 1 and 2 for monitors:
-Press the ‘PRE’ switch on each input channel that you want to use with the monitor mix, to route the AUX sends 1 and 2 ‘pre-fader’ (so that the channel and main faders don’t affect the monitor output levels).
-Use the AUX 1 and 2 knobs on each channel and the AUX SENDS 1 and 2 knobs in the MAIN section to control the levels going to AUX SEND 1 and 2 jacks to the monitors.
