    FCB1010 expression pedal calibration

The expression pedals are calibrated and completely checked before they leave our Facility. However it is possible that during transportation or influence of temperature the calibrated values have become misaligned. Here is a way to re-calibrate your expression pedals.

    Calibration – Self test FCB1010:
    1. Connect a MIDI cable from the MIDI IN to the MIDI OUT/THRU on the FCB1010 (see above).
    2. Keep pedal 1 and 3 pressed while switching on the unit, then let go of the switches. The unit is
In self test-mode now, all the LED’s will light up one by one, and then the LED’s for the switches will all remain lit up.
    3. Push all pedals now (one at a time, including the UP and DOWN pedals) until all LED’s are off.
    4. Wait until relay test is finished. A1 will show up in the display, indicating that the MIDI ports work correctly.
    5. Press the down-button once.
    6. Adjust the left expression pedal (A) to the lowest value (e.g. your heel all the way down). Once
    Adjusted, press UP to confirm.
NOTE: THE VALUES DISPLAYED DURING THIS PART OF THE PROCEDURE ARE NOT NECESSARILY “LOGICAL” (E.G. THEY DO NOT ALL CORRELATE TO A NUMBER BETWEEN 0-127). FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AS WRITTEN & DISREGARD ANY “STRANGE” ALPHANUMERIC COMBINATIONS… THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS PROCEDURE!!!
    7. Adjust the left expression pedal (A) to the highest value (e.g. your toe all the way down). Once
    Adjusted, press UP to confirm.
    8. Adjust the right expression pedal (B) to the lowest value (e.g. your heel all the way down). Once
    Adjusted, press UP to confirm.
    9. Adjust the right expression pedal (B) to the highest value (e.g. your toe all the way down). Once
    Adjusted, press UP to confirm.
The pedals are now calibrated - and there should be a value of 0-127 transmitted from the MIDI output after programming and moving the expression pedal.

If you have firmware version 2.4 or newer you can perform this more simple calibration procedure on your FCB1010.

    New Pedal Calibration Function
The 2.4 Update allows accessing the pedal calibration mode directly, without passing through the entire test routines. Just press buttons 1 + 5 while powering your FCB1010 up (VAL 1 LED on). First bring the expression pedal A to the up position and confirm with UP (VAL 2 LED turns on), then put the pedal A down and also confirm with UP (VAL 1 LED turns on). Now proceed with moving expression pedal B to the up position, and confirm with UP (VAL 2 LED turns on). Finally push expression pedal B down and confirm pressing UP. Now the pedals of your FCB1010 are calibrated and settings are automatically stored.

    Hi Chris.

Thanks for the greater detail (I needed it)

    Got it working flawlessly now...

Now that its set up... and the two items are finally talking to each other how I want them to its going to be a joy setting up the pre-sets required.

As someone who has been involved with software development over the years and a long time user of Linux I usually can manage to pick up most processes without the aid of a manual.
When I needed to study the Behringer docs for both of these products so in depth with no success I knew I must be either loosing brain cells or the programming process was beyond common sense.

I conclude that... The FCB1010 is not intuitive to program. I hope Behringer take this as constructive.
Without your detailed explanation there is no way I could remember how to set up a Control Change to use the User banks of the Virtualizer from the FCB1010.

    Thanks for the support !!!!
    Very happy with the results...

    As a side note.
Would Behringer consider selling a future FCB1010 and Virtualizer preconfigured to work together 'out of the box' as a pair. ? ..
Its a great combination... shame so much programming has to be done to get them both working together especially as they are part of the same range.
