    Thoughts and questions on the CMD component line

    I’ve recently purchased a selection of the CMD components off eBay. Had some comments and questions.

    First off, I want to say they look great and seem solid in my book for a hobbyist. I picked up an MM-1, two PL-1s, one DC-1, and one DV-1.

    I’m using them with Traktor, and am thankful for the maps provided here. I have had experience with Deckadance in the past, but have grown to love Traktor.

    Initially, I could not get my MM-1 to catch on the mappings because my computer set the MM-1 at Channel 1, while the mapping is for Channel 5. I had some trouble using the utility you provided to change the channel...mainly because I’d press “Start” and nothing would happen...until I pressed or moved something on the controller. I’d suggest telling users to do this after they press Start.

    I’ll add that the utility didn’t always I’d press the second button to change the channel and get an error. Trying again would get me a repeat, thus I’d have to restart the app until I finally got a clean confirmation.

    Moving on, I first had problems getting everything to recognize or work correctly. One big one were the I’d seemingly be unable to play anything unless I press “Cue” and “Play”. I seemed to fix it when I set the port in/out (in Traktor) to “all ports” as opposed to the specific PL-1. Is this ideal? Or did I do something wrong?

    I also notice when I press the “Scratch” button it sets up a cuepoint at #4 on my track. Can’t seem to find any reason in the mapping why this happens.

    Other than that, things seem to be working fine right now. Nice gear and I’m excited to dive in deeper. Thank you for the Remix Deck mapping on the DC-1.

    Happy to report the "phrase" button is the one allowing me to switch loop selections on the DV-1.

    Things are working well.
