How to enable the DCX PC Card slot for use with PCMCIA adapter for SD memory cards

    Hello Everyone

Does any knows a way to enable the Behringer DCX2496 to recognize a PCMCIA adapter card for SD Memory Card? I tried but no luck, everyone knows SD cards are now the most accepted and cheap memory cards in the market, however, the DCX2496 was designed to be used with the older expensive memory cards with no other option, also the DCX2496 has a limited onboard memory that makes it impossible to save more than one user customized setting, so unless you erase all preset you are out of luck.

Please let me know if there is a way to update the unit via the DCX remote up-loader software. spending over US$30 for a 32MB card is unacceptable considering that you now can buy an 4 GB SD memory card for less than US$5.00 dollars

    Hi Watsal,

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. I am going to ping one of our product specialists so that you may get a response to this question in the next day or two.

In the meantime, have you had a chance to review our new forum name policy? Please read this over, and send me a PM, so I can fix your username up.

Also, I am moving this thread to the Recording forum where it will be slightly more on-topic. Cheers!

    Take care,

The DCX2496 uses a PCMIA format which is no longer easy to find in its ‘complete’ form. The great news is that you can easily find an adapter that will hold the CompactFlash card of your choice as the memory backup.

Example source – Radio Shack (as of early 2003):

PCMCIA to CF Adapter Model #25-936 $16.59

64MB CompactFlash card #44-1302 (also know as San Disk model SD CFB-64) $27.99

Another source is www.memorysuppliers.com (go to the Camera/FLASH cards page)

You may find that the adapter is a snug fit into the DDX3216 PC card port. Not to worry, it will go in.

    An additional note:
A customer told us that they purchased the following items from Circuit City:
A Dazzle PCMCIA to CF adapter ($12.95), a Compact Flash card, and the Dazzle ZiO! USB Reader/writer for PC ($29.99). With these items he was able to transfer DDX3216 files from his PC to the PC card, then use that card with the DCX2496.

    I hope this helps!
