B115MP3 Clipping?

"Hi there! I just purchased a B115MP3 for playback and stage monitor use. The amp seems to clip quite easily without a much volume at all and the woofer distorts before clipping point. Is the protection circuitry inside enough to take care of the driver if it is accidentally pushed into clip for a period of time or should I be concerned about this?"

No, this doesn't sound normal for the B115MP3, especially if you're hearing audible distortion from the clipping. Start with the B115MP3 level knob on the back straight up, and try setting the gain structure from the mixer again. Make sure the level isn't clipping coming from the mixer. Start with the mixers Main fader up at 0, then turn up the channels. Are you getting clipping on channels 1 or 2, or the System Clip LED? Try connecting a mic directly to channels 1 and 2 to see if you get the same results, for each channel.
