The current version of XControl is still in Beta, and does not support full screen mode
The developers predict Version 1.0 will have Full Screen Mode.

Current XControl resolution is fixed to 1002x760.

I wonder where that setting originated; one would think a more standard ratio would have used in light of the lack of support for full screen mode. Standing by for v1.0...
