    Remote Control via USB

Anyone know how to connect the Xcontrol app on a PC to the X32 using only a USB cable?

"REMOTE CONTROL – Connect to a PC for remote control via USB or Ethernet cable." - p. 16 of the X32 Manual

I'm able to connect via Ethernet by setting up a Network router, but don't want to go through all that networking configuration setup trouble every time - would rather just plug in a USB cable, and sync up.

    Thanks,
    Gary

Thanks for the response, do you have any idea if it is planned to be able to be used at the same time as eithernet or if its going to be one or the other? If you don't know that's fine too, ill keep watching, great software though, using it on a 19" touch screen at 1152x864 and it works instantly

    Hi Luke,

I am glad that that is working for you.

There have not been any announcements about running more than one instance of X Control at the same time.

There will be more information when it is updated.

    Hi Luke,

You actually can run X Control on several iPads at the same time. You should be able to use up to ten iPads or so.

Is anyone using this port? Does it work with Edit?
I plugged it in and I got CH1 fader to move bus1 fader when I press the Remote button.
Last post was over a year ago.

Anyone know what the USB port next to the Ethernet port is for????

I would never use USB when the gear in question is Ethernet capable. When USB works, great. When it doesn't, it's not nearly as easy to sort out as an Ethernet connection.

I've never had many problems with USB. I just was wondering if it could talk to something.
