Actually, that's a good feature request:

Hello X32 lovers + those who have the mighty power to keep pushing the envelope with firmware enhancements and tweaks.
I have been following with interest as each new update brings additional functionality and finesse to the console.
Here are a few things that may already exist in undocumented realms (I am hoping!), or may be possible with advanced knowledge of the console - but if not.. feature requests! Apologies if it turns out I am asking for something which has already been provided/requested elsewhere.
I would love the ability to use all 24 (even 25) faders for DAW control via OSC - I have seen past reference to this not being possible due to MIDI limitations, but of course the OSC implementation and continual improvements hoping remove that limit, so here's hoping for a full-console remote layer mode!
I'm never quite sure how mappable/shuffleable the channel order is, but from my days of using Yamaha desks (where double-clicking two channel select buttons would pair/unpair), one real advance was to be able to link channels from two different layers (eg 1+17, 2+18) rather than just adjacent ones. This meant a single fader in the main view could control a stereo pair, giving up to 16 stereo pairs on those 16 faders. Essentially it was about being able to link faders without taking up the same fader 'real estate' once linked, if that makes sense? Anything along those lines would be great.
Finally, is there a way to directly set the pixels and colour for the track display scribble strip? It would be really helpful to be able to reflect more accurately and flexibly the track icon image or to use larger text + pick a matching colour.
Many thanks for reading.
Drew
Thanks Paul
I am trying to get my "mix from stage" workflow ironed out before I get my hands on the X32 Rack. Having quick access to fix gain issues (like none of us has ever had a guitar player turn up at a gig) is one of my major concerns.
Even without doing anything intentionally, I have found that my VHT tube amp tends to get a little louder as it warms up. I can't just turn it down since it is frequently no where near me (I also lead sing) when I am playing.
Hi Drew,
First of all welcome to the forum. That's the good news, so to speak. Now the bad news. Most of what you listed are feature requests.
Regarding the DAW surface via OSC, the X32 does use the Mackie and HUI protocol for this application. Don't know much about it, since I don't use that feature. The X32 does have a small section explaining it. There are also a number of members working diligently on figuring out the OSC protocol, since the documentation is sorely lacking. Kevin Hunter even had a demo showing how he controlled a DMX light with the X32 using OSC commands. Have a look over at the X32 User Net site for more of that type of development.
The channel order is reassignable. But the linking is still odd/even (eg. ch 1/2) pairs only. Now you can assign a physical input to more than one channel strip, if that is any help in the scenario you mentioned.
Anyways, keep asking question. There is bound to be someone on the forum that might be able to help. And as my dad always said "dumb looks are still free"

Hey Scott,
I'm in a similar situation, where I'm ramping up in preparation for the X32 Rack's release (soon I hope) and switching my analog rig (A&H GL2400) to the Rack and want to be able to have full control when it happens. The X32 at the church is great. But the Rack will make my portable setup so much easier and quicker to setup.
There are a number of us that are playing with the TouchOSC app for the Android. TouchOSC does provide the layout editor for free and may provide a possible solution that you desire. If we can only figure out how to receive the OSC commands, we could setup meters with gains. Unfortunately the OSC documentation is sorely inadequate.
Also, I know Brian and others are working on other platforms of apps in order to fill the void of feature requests. Eventually, one of us will find solutions to help more of us users.

With the remote control (X32-Edit PC) of the USB-recorder there is a difference to the console: after "fast forward" and "play" the recorder swiches to "pause". On the console he switches to "play".
Very nice is the feature of solo remote control! Now I can use a wireless inEar-system and my tablet-pc to control my x32 completely from anywere. Thanks for that!

One gig in and so far I'm impressed. My only complaint is unlike every other digi I've used it doesn't seem possible to have a user defined key take me to a specific geq. That is, I can link to a pair of mono graphics but only get the last one of the pair used without first looking for "A" or "B" and navigating up and down.
Mons is a lot easier with direct graphic access.
Ok, gig 2 with the X32.
From a traditional desk point of view it continues to perform wonderfully. Despite my previous (yet to appear?) post about a feature request.
However, tonight I tried to record 18 channels or so via USB. My DAW (logic on macbook pro) sporadically complained of clock errors and dropped out. The reported sampling rates had seemingly drifted quite substantially from 44.1k ( e.g. 43.9xx ).
Is the internal clock in my X32 defective? Is this drift normal?
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe I miss something, would be good if somebody could clear for me: In the offline mode of the Ipad App I cannot select other than the given FX.
