you mention that you downloaded a White noise not a Pink noise
you should use pink noise cause this has all the frequencies at the same volume not like white that is louder in the mid to high...

When saving a channel setting turn off the setting you don't want to be stored

so in your case when yu go to save your channel turn the gate off and this wont be saved...

it can be the auto brightnes or auto lock on the ipad make sure you disable this next time

JK when you palyback from either firewire or USB the Head amp becomes a Digital trim so it wont keep your gain in that part

I dont think you will be using a Ribbon mic with a Ix16 and always use a DI box when connecting any unbalanced devices to a balanced input

phantom power doesn't affect your dynamic mic's since the +40V travels on pin 3 of the XLR thats not used on Dynamic mic

I run a mac as well with mountain lion on firewire

I have to try it then I'm registered since I owned a SL until I bought the x32
